The Pastors

“It’s good to be in the house of the Lord,
but its greater when the Lord is in your house.”

Pastor Michael Holley

Michael Holley received the Lord as his personal savior in November 1981 and began attending Morning Star Baptist Church faithfully under Reverend C.H. Williams in Virginia Beach, VA.  It was there he heard and answered the call to ministry.  As he sought God for direction through prayer and studying the word of God, he began ministry classes at Victory Life Bible College, Hampton, VA, graduating in 1987 and Bible Teaching Institute, Portsmouth, VA graduating in 1990.  He was ordained in August 1993 in Chesapeake, VA.

Prior to becoming Pastor of Zion Worship Temple Church, Michael served in many areas of the ministry.  He was a training trustee, parking lot attendant and a part of the cleaning ministry.  He was willing to do whatever was needed or asked of him.
He started the Jail and Detention Home Ministry and eventually became the Ministry Head.
He also served as Ministry Head for the Usher Ministry for several years and was recognized for his faithfulness to God and God's people by the Pastors.  Through this faithful service to God and leadership, Michael and his wife became assistant Pastors where they served God and their Pastors faithfully
for seven years.
In July 2004, the Lord promoted Michael to Senior Pastor of Zion Worship Temple Church.

He is a humble man who loves God and His people.  A man who does not
compromise the word of God, but preaches a powerful, unadulterated word to a lost and dying generation.  He inspires those, in the Lord, to live and love according to the word of God and to those who don't know Jesus he compels them to come to Him.

Michael is also delighted and honored to serve Chesapeake's finest as a Chaplain for the Chesapeake Police Department.  He received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Chesapeake City Jail Ministry and Sheriff Department.  He continues to be a volunteer with the Chesapeake Jail and Detention Home Ministry to this day.

He is married to Anita Holley his wife of 31 years, who Co-Pastors with her husband.  They have three beautiful children, Michael, Michelle, Mondre’ and one granddaughter Michayla.  They reside in Chesapeake, VA.
